Unit 4 Projects
Handles
For this project I wanted to keep it simple and make a small cup wiht a handle that can onyl fit on finger inside. After looking that the piece more, I think that I could've been more creative and made something a little more interesting. I the glaze Teal Next Time and it fires at 05-06
Lidden Box
For my lidden box, I decided to give the lid of the box a simple shpere shape. Sadly before my piece could be fired the lid broke off and there was apart of the box that was broken aswell. I think that if the piece was able to be fired and glazed fully it would've turned out well since the lid of the piece fit perfectly in top of the box.
Poem Piece
The poem that I decided to do was the one titled : "Those Winter Sundays." I wanted to create somehting that showed the aspects of winter time but also having the fire place on inside when it is too cold outside which is why I made it the way it is. The glazes I used for this piece were Hot Tamale, Orange-A-Peel, Java Bean, Blue Yonder, and Bright White. This piece was fired at the cone 05-06
Series of 4
For this project I orginally wanted to make four cups with different unique logos but while I was making them two of them broke and I decided it would be best to start over and make somehting new. I decided to make four snowmen because when I go to the snow I like to make snowmans and I thought it would be cool to make some out of clay. I think I could've added a little more detail to them but I overall, I'm content with how they came out. I used the Bright White and Java Bean glazes and they fired at 05-06
Master work of art from 2D to 3D
For this project, I wanted to think outside of the box and create something kind of odd and unique. I decided to recreate the Lake George Reflection made by Georgia O'Keeffe in 1922. I wanted to make the piece a mug shaped figure and have the reflection wrap around the piece. I think that it came out fairly well and that it is definitely a very unique piece. For this project I used the glazes Irish Luck, Green Thumb, Moody Blue, Grapel, Rosey Posey, and Blue Yonder
